98 MIN | USA | Documentary Feature
Director Sean Mullin presents an intimate portrait of an American icon: Yogi Berra. This feature documentary explores the life of the baseball giant, who was simultaneously revered for his sportsmanship and reduced to a caricature for his personal antics. While Berra's contributions to baseball are incalculable, his accomplishments on the field were overshadowed by his off-the-field persona. We are urged to look at him in a new light: as a player with a heart. Berra’s granddaughter Lindsay Berra gives us a glimpse of Yogi’s life outside of baseball - including life as a father, husband, and D-Day veteran. It Ain’t Over features interviews from former teammates, players he managed, as well as Billy Crystal, Derek Jeter, Don Mattingly, Bob Costas, and more. Mullin dares us to shift our own perceptions in this engaging portrait of the historically misunderstood sports legend.
Programmer’s Note: Our favorite Berra quote is: “I never said most of the things I said.”
