The Nantucket Film Festival (NFF) is looking for one enthusiastic and dedicated intern interested in working for school credit with a stipend, from mid-February to June at NFF’s NYC (Brooklyn) office. This position provides students and recent graduates with a unique opportunity to work alongside industry professionals to witness the planning of a film festival over five months, particularly on the business and sponsorship side of the event.

The internship will involve planning for the 28th Annual Nantucket Film Festival (June 21-26) and will provide hands-on experience in non-profit development, sponsorship, arts administration, and event production. This is a great opportunity for anyone who is more interested in the business side of film and fundraising. It will be focused on assisting the Development Director with the renewal, retention, and sourcing of new sponsorships, grants and coordinate major donor tracking, as well as administrative work relative to our festival operations. Interns should be comfortable interacting with donors and mid to senior level corporate executives in person, via zoom and on the telephone. Additional work may also include database processing, archival assignments, and special projects. The intern may also contribute to screening and screenplay reading committee efforts if desired.

Applicants should be attentive to detail, possess an interest in non-profit development, have strong organization and communication skills, and display a mature and positive work ethic. Office skills and familiarity with general office software, such as Word, Powerpoint, and Excel, are necessary. Knowledge of graphic design software (Adobe), web CMS, and database systems like AirTable are a big plus.

Interns will be expected to be in the office at least once a week (Tuesday or Thursday) at the Festival's Brooklyn office and work one day remotely. Additionally, there is the opportunity to be hired to work in June, which will require travel to Nantucket during the pre-festival and festival week (June 12-28). We do offer a meal/travel stipend throughout the internship. It is expected that interns must be available to work in June on Nantucket, with accommodations and travel provided by the festival. Though employment at the festival is not guaranteed at the start of the internship, preference will be given to candidates who can commit to the Festival’s June dates.
