Emily (Aubrey Plaza) is struggling to make ends meet while trying to pay off her student debt for an unfinished art degree, unable to make progress in the job market due to a minor criminal record. Desperate for any kind of extra income, she takes a shady gig as a “dummy shopper,” buying goods with stolen credit cards supplied by a middleman named Youcef (Theo Rossi). After a series of dead-end job opportunities, Emily soon finds herself seduced by the quick cash, the illicit thrills of black market capitalism, and by Youcef himself.
