Now entering our 23rd year, the Nantucket Film Festival is unique among film festivals in its mission to promote the cultural awareness and appreciation of the art of screenwriting in the world of cinema. These days, NFF has become one of the premier destination film festivals in the world. Visitors come from all over to experience our preview screenings, Signature Programs, and stand out hospitality on a magical island rich with history, a friendly atmosphere, and beautiful sandy beaches. In addition to the Festival in June, the organization also produces screenplay competitions, educational programs for teens, and year-round original programming on Nantucket.
2018 Internship Opportunities:
The Nantucket Film Festival (NFF) is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated interns interested in working for school credit, from mid-January to late May at NFF’s office in Brooklyn, NY. This unpaid internship provides students and recent graduates with a unique opportunity to work alongside industry professionals and witness the planning of a film festival. Each intern has the unique opportunity to be considered for a seasonal contract job at the Film Festival in June, though employment is not guaranteed.
Marketing and Digital Outreach Internship
The internship will provide hands-on experience in marketing, digital outreach, arts administration, and event production. It will be focused on assisting the Marketing and Digital Outreach Directors with the creation and organization of the festival’s creative materials which include print and digital assets, and contribute to the website and social media maintenance. Additional work may also include light copy editing, film editing, database processing, archival assignments, and special projects. The intern may also contribute to the screening and reading of film and screenplay submissions if desired.
Applicants should be attentive to detail, possess strong graphic design skills, have strong organization and communication skills, and display a mature and positive work ethic. Applicant should also be able to engage in social media activities in a fun yet professional manner.
Applicants should possess an interest in marketing, public relation, social media and design in the film and non-profit industries. They should also have strong attention to detail, great organization and communication skills, and display a mature and positive work ethic. The intern should have strong or excellent experience in Adobe Creative Suite specifically in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign products. Office skills and familiarity with general office software, such as Word, Powerpoint, and Excel. Experience Squarespace CMS, Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects are a big plus.
The time commitment is flexible, but interns will be expected be in the office at least two days per week (12-20 hours), from the end of January to May 2018, at the Festival's Brooklyn office.
